HIGHLIGHTS

Itinerary & Map

KOCHI

Our adventure starts in Kochi, a city shaped by centuries of trade, culture, and creativity.

We’ll tap into our creative side with a handicraft workshop, where a local artist will show us how to craft our own necklaces – blending tradition with personal style.
A unique souvenir, made by our own hands.

We are going to visit local markets, where vibrant stalls overflow with spices, fabrics, and handcrafted treasures.
But Kochi’s real magic is found in its food, and we’ll experience it firsthand on a food tour, tasting everything from north indian masalas to south indian dosas.

Of course, Kochi isn’t just about flavors and creativity – it’s a city with a fascinating past.
We’ll step into history at Fort Kochi, wandering through its colonial streets, old churches, and, of course, the famous Chinese fishing nets, a symbol of the city’s maritime roots.

3 NIGHTS

ALAPPUZHA

From the lively streets of Kochi, we move to Alappuzha, which is famous its winding canals and slow, rhythmic way of life.

But instead of joining the crowds on houseboats, we’ll take a more intimate route – a kayak tour through the backwaters.
Gliding silently through narrow waterways, we’ll pass by small villages, watch locals go about their daily routines, and soak in the peaceful beauty of Kerala’s natural landscapes.
With each paddle stroke, we’ll experience the backwaters up close, far from the usual tourist trails.

2 NIGHTS

MALAYATTOOR

Leaving the waterways behind, we head inland to Malayattoor.
Surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, this quiet region offers a deeper connection to Kerala’s land and its people.

Our evening will be spent around a crackling campfire, sharing stories and a homemade dinner with a local host.
We’ll also learn about the spices and medicinal plants that have been part of Kerala’s heritage for centuries we’ll listen to fascinating stories about the daily realities of living alongside wild elephants.

The next day, we’ll have a chocolate workshop on a small, family-run cocoa farm.
Here, we’ll follow the journey of cacao from bean to bar, discovering the craft behind locally made chocolate and even trying our hand at making some ourselves.

2 NIGHTS

VALPARAI

Our journey to Valparai begins with sunrise, as we take the forest road through the Idamalayar Reserve.

In the soft morning light, the forest slowly comes to life and if we’re lucky, we might spot wild elephants along the way.
This region is home to incredible wildlife, including the majestic Great Indian Hornbill and the rare Lion-tailed Macaque, an agile primate found only in the Western Ghats.

After our wildlife adventure, we’ll step into a different kind of landscape – the lush tea fields of Valparai.
Endless rows of emerald-green bushes stretch across rolling hills, creating a postcard-perfect scene.
Here, we’ll take a walk through the plantations, try some local tea and soak in the fresh mountain air.

1 NIGHT

PALAKKAD

Our journey takes us to Palakkad, a region known for its rich cultural heritage and timeless traditions.
But this isn’t just any visit – we’re here to experience one of Kerala’s most spectacular temple festivals:
Kalpathi Ratholsavam.

As the grand temple chariots (rathas), beautifully decorated and towering over the crowd, are pulled through the streets by devoted worshippers, the air fills with the sound of traditional chants, drums, and the energy of celebration.

We’ll immerse ourselves in the festival atmosphere, witnessing the vibrant processions, the rhythmic beats of temple music, and the deep-rooted devotion that brings this event to life. The streets of Kalpathi village, lined with centuries-old agraharams (Brahmin heritage homes), offer a glimpse into a way of life that has been preserved for generations.

2 NIGHTS

KOOLIMAD VILLAGE

Our journey ends in Koolimad, a small village untouched by tourism, where life moves at its own peaceful rhythm.
This is not just a visit – it’s an immersion into daily life, a chance to connect with the people who call this place home.

Here, we’ll be welcomed into the community with open arms, sharing meals, stories, and laughter with the locals. We’ll stay in their homes, experience their way of life firsthand, and enjoy the warmth of true Kerala hospitality. From cooking together to simply sitting and chatting over a cup of chai, every moment here is personal and real.

Beyond the village, hidden in the mountains, lies a secret river swimming spot, where we’ll cool off in crystal-clear waters, surrounded by beautiful nature.
It’s the kind of place only locals know – a true hidden gem.

Throughout our stay, we’ll savor homemade dishes, each one carrying the flavors and traditions of the region.
And just when we think we’ve seen it all, there will be a surprise or two waiting for us – something special to make this final stop even more unforgettable.

Koolimad isn’t just the last destination on our trip; it’s a reminder of why we travel – to connect, to learn, and to experience life in its most authentic form.
A perfect ending to an incredible journey.
